Friday Favorites: Week 2 of All K-Pop and Drama Faves

Another Friday Favorites round-up of all my favorite K-Pop/K-Drama news!

1. Yoon Eun-Hye In Talks for a Drama Comeback

I have been waiting for this new for so so long! Yoon Eun-Hye has been one of my top 3 K-drama actresses since I watched “Princess Hours” and “Coffee Prince” like eight (?) years ago. It was announced a couple days ago she’s in talks to star as the lead in a robot drama, which are apparently really popular right now, called “Love Like A Person”. Honestly, I don’t care what the drama is about. I just want to see her comeback in a drama again!

2. “Heart Shaker” by TWICE(트와이스)

Unpopular opinion: I’m not really a fan of TWICE’s music at all. I really like all the members, but their music is usually too repetitive and similar sounding for my taste. However, their most recent release “Heart Shaker” is the perfect upbeat, holiday song I needed. The beat is undeniably catchy and the music video is cute with good choreography as well.

3. “The Night” / 기우는 밤  by Soyou (소유) feat. Geeks(긱스) and Produced by Primary (프라이머리)

I was sad that SISTAR decided to go separate ways, but I’m glad they are all staying in the industry. Soyou’s title track from her new album didn’t disappoint! It’s a sweet song that shows of Soyou’s talent and I find myself keeping this song on repeat since it’s release this week.

4. “Hands Up” by B.A.P

B.A.P had their comeback this week with title track “Hands Up”. The rap verses in this song are fire.

5. Yoo Seung-Ho (유승호) as Kim Min-Kyu in “I’m Not A Robot” (로봇이 아니야 )

I started watching “I’m Not A Robot” last night and am hooked solely because of the character Kim Min-Kyu. Seung-Ho’s acting so far is really good in my opinion, and he portrays Min-Kyu as someone you want to know more about. You can tell Min-Kyu has a great sense of humor just from the first two episodes. So, I’m really excited to see how this drama goes.

6. BLACKPINK and iKON January 2018 Comebacks

YG Entertainment is easily my favorite entertainment company. Their hip-hop style and original, creative concepts are exactly my “cup of tea”. I’ve been eagerly waiting for iKON’s comeback, and hoping for a BLACKPINK EP or album. So, knowing that there’s a really good chance I’ll get both next month is super exciting!

7. “With Seoul” by BTS

It wouldn’t be a “Favorite” list without an appearance by BTS. They released a behind the scenes type video to accompany their song for “Visit Seoul”.

8. EXO’s Winter Album “Universe”

EXO will be releasing their winter album on December 21st, and they’ve started to release video teasers with a “Café Universe” concept. So far, we have Xiumin’s & Sehun’s and Kai’s & Suho’s episode teasers.

9. Gong Myung (공명) of Idol Group 5urprise in Talks for New Drama

Gong Myung recently concluded his role on “Revolutionary Love” where he played the secondary male lead character. I just finished the drama (review coming soon) and really loved Gong Myung and his character. So, I was really excited to see that he’s already in talks to star in another drama. called “You Who Forgot Poetry.” It would be set in a hospital and follow the lives of the employees. I’m hoping for a possible lead role for Gong Myung!

A big yes to Yoon Eun Hye is a new drama! Been waiting so long for that! I haven’t started I’m Not a Robot yet, but it’s one of my most anticipated ones on my list. I always love Yoo Seung Ho, so it doesn’t surprise me that he is wonderful in it 🙂 And of course, gotta show the BTS love! I love the song With Seoul. It’s so bright and has an inspirational feeling to it. I’m a bit of an oddity, but I actually like it more than Crystal Snow, although I do like it too 🙂

I’m really enjoying I’m Not A Robot! I had only seen a one other drama with Yoo Seung Ho in it, but now I’m thinking I need to check out more of his dramas! 🙂 You’re so right…With Seoul does have such an inspirational feeling. Such a nice “mood-boosting” song 🙂
